In 1965 an old convent located on the Colle dei Cappuccini hill, not far from the town’s historic centre, was transformed into a university college by Senator Carlo Bo, the university’s Chancellor for over fifty years. The project was designed by the internationally renowned architect Giancarlo De Carlo who had already restored and renovated many of the town’s major historical buildings.
Following the recent conservational restoration of the building, the Collegio del Colle now boasts 150 single rooms with en-suite bathrooms, a restaurant, a conference hall, wireless internet connections, study rooms and other services.
The “Collegio del Colle” is one of five university colleges located approx 1 km from the historic centre and served by frequent transport services. The colleges provide the following services: 24-hour reception, book-lending, video library, TV and games rooms, a fully-equipped laundry, a luggage deposit and public telephones, bars, snookers tables and table-football games, commons rooms, theatres, conference halls.
